IT Help Desk Technician responsibilities:

Job brief
We are looking for a competent Help desk technician to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. You will answer computer users queries on technical issues and implement solutions or hand off the issue to the next level support. As required you will also assist the network administrator with various tasks.
An excellent Help desk technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers.
Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for computer users seeking technical assistance via phone, email, internet remote support, and in person
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue
  • Provide users with information on software features
  • Follow-up and update user with status and information
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on company procedures
  • Common support issues: printers, scanners, email accounts, software setup, desk phones, file-servers access and permissions configuring, cloning disks, setting up desktop and laptops for users with profile and typically email, Microsoft Office 365 license, and remote access agent
  • Assist the network administrator with various tasks such as checking server backups, rotating external disks, running Ethernet cable runs
  • Log events and problems and their resolution
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support as needed

Requirements and skills

  • Experience and an aptitude for the role of Help Desk Technician
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of personal computers, Windows operating system, and Microsoft office software
  • Basic understanding of computer network IP addressing
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Proficiency in English
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • After school
  • Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Temecula, CA 92590: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Help desk: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Windows: 1 year (Preferred)
