JOB SUMMARY:

We are a Janitorial company located in South Pasadena searching for a responsible and highly motivated Janitorial Area Supervisor with minimum of three years recent and related supervisory work experience. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and will oversee the day-to day cleanliness and maintenance of the buildings, while working side by side with the Foreman's, Waxers and Janitorial staff. The Area Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory, timecards, and other related reports. The Area Supervisor follows and promotes the safety rules of the company and the building, conducts walk-through inspections, is responsible for scheduling special request jobs such as events, and obtaining all the necessary equipment and supplies for the crew. Must be bilingual English and Spanish.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Area Supervisor responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintain accurate written records, work schedule, timesheets, inspections, injury, and employee training.
• Ensure employees follow and promote company safety rules and rules of the buildings.
• Conducts Monthly Safety trainings.
• Maintain inventory control of chemicals, supplies, equipment, including radios and/or cellphones.
• Monitors and ensures all buildings have the necessary equipment, logbooks, and supplies.
• Order supplies as needed for the Janitorial crew.
• Receive supplies from vendors and store/put away in assigned storage area.
• Reports broken equipment to Project Manager.
• Responds to calls and emergency situations immediately.
• Handles special work order requests from customers and schedules the utility crew accordingly.
• Trains new employees as needed.
• Reviews and approves requested vacation time.
• Request temps for vacationing employees and/or absentees.
• Conducts and investigates WC injury and reports promptly to the Director of Claims.
• Provides written warnings for disciplinary issues.
• Ensures disciplinary process is conducted appropriately.
• Responsible for maintaining building keys.
• Conducts and coordinates building inspections.
• Assist with special projects requested by Management or the Company.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bilingual; English and Spanish a must.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
• Experience processing payroll.
• Experience conducting Safety Training.
• Knowledge in all aspects of janitorial work.
• Able to follow directions and instructions.
• Able to communicate effectively with their direct supervisor and staff while remaining professional and courteous.
• Knowledgeable and able to use cleaning materials and equipment according to safety guidelines.
• Knowledgeable and able to perform all janitorial duties (dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, restrooms).
• Three years minimum janitorial experience with Supervisory responsibilities.
• Must be able to wear PPE. (Provided by DMS)
• Must be able to drive a company golf cart on account premises.
• Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Must be able to move about the building, conducting, cleaning and supervisory inspections. Normal physical activity can be strenuous and may involve prolonged standing, walking, reaching, bending, and crouching. The employee must occasionally push, pull, and/or lift objects up to 40 pounds. Work requires spatial perception and finger and manual dexterity.

This job is exposed, on a daily basis, to temperatures and the handling of chemicals and cleaning agents on a daily basis. Work takes place both inside and outside the facility in both environments protected and non-protected from weather.

Monday-Friday

5:00pm-1:30am

This is a Salary position and schedule may require some weekends and on call availability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,500.00 - $70,000.00 per year
