Overview:
Central Triage is a nurse and medical assistant customer service team that fields thousands of patient calls per week. We work closely with IM/FAM/Peds medical providers to help triage phone calls, process refills, relay test results, provide patient education and outreach. As an administrative medical assistant, the goal is to assist in keeping the clinic running smoothly, as well as an emphasis on ensuring the delivery of the highest quality patient care. The role is also meant to be an introductory position for anyone that is interested in working in healthcare as a medical assistant.
P JMA Office position:
8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday (Anytime within these hours and days)
Training will take 3 weeks at our Lisle location with our MA and clerk team. Before working independently, the candidate will undergo an assessment for each area of training to confirm understanding of the task and quality of the work. Once the evaluation is passed the employee will be scheduled to other departments for shadowing. Attempt to coordinate site shadowing with site locations closet to the JMA’s residence.


The role of administrative medical assistant offers a unique combination of direct and indirect patient-related duties. This role will be working alongside a Medical Assistant and/or clerk to provide ongoing support where needed.

  • Front desk duties: updating patient registration, scheduling appointments, and answering the phones
  • Maintain immunization patient databases.
  • Faxing electronically following HIPAA guidelines
  • General Office supply inventory, supply ordering and office organization
  • Office and patient correspondence management (processing letters)
  • Building Safety/ OSHA training and document updating, AED log
  • Department document creation and maintenance.
  • Rooming: basic, non-invasive rooming, procedure setup, and vital sign skills if needed.
  • Instrument sanitation and sterilization
  • Office Shadowing
Training: EPIC EMR training and leadership growth via Base Camp
Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent (required) OR,
  • A high school senior interested in pursuing a career/education in the medical field.
