JUNIOR FF&E DESIGNER - Santa Monica

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Project Designer, the Senior Designer and the Designer, the Junior Designer will assist in the initial design conception, technical development and execution of assigned project phases. The Junior Designer is expected to assist and learn as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

The Junior Designer reports to the Senior Project Designers. The Junior Designer position may take direction from the Associate assigned to the projects, The Senior Designer and the Designer on design project related matters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with FF&E specifications and computer specification program requirements.
• Assist with organization and maintenance of materials required for the projects.
• Assist with the assembly of color and materials boards
• Contact vendors for material sample requests.
• Assist with project record keeping.

OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES:

• Periodic drafting may be required at the request of the designers.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Design Talent
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD required.
• Must have strong organizational skills and be able to handle more than 1 project simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently.
• Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
• Exceptional customer-focus with an emphasis on quality.
• Strong ability to resolve issues utilizing sound judgment and reasoning skills.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision and take initiative.
• Ability to employ creative and innovative thought processes.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Design Manager, Photo Shop, In-Design and/or equal programs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 1-2 years hospitality design experience preferred. Two or four year degree from an accredited interior design program preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
