- Purchase goods directly from manufacturers or from other wholesale firms.
- Ask vendors for promotional prices and incentives.
- Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends.
- Monitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of problems trace shipments and follow up undelivered goods.
- Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
- Create monthly Return Goods Authorization per annual schedule.
- Cross Train into other departments within Purchasing.
- Must possess a minimum of intermediate level computer skills.
- Proficient in Excel.
- Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.
- 10 speed minimum of 9500 keystroke per hour
- Working knowledge of computerized inventory control systems is a plus.
