The role you’ll contribute:

The Medical Technologist performs all laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital departmental policies and procedures. Communicates with physicians / team leaders / coworkers as appropriate regarding laboratory testing and results. Additionally, is able to perform general laboratory duties in all departments with adequate supervision

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Collects and directs the collection of specimens with rigid attention to proper patient identification per laboratory policy
• Performs routine laboratory test procedures as outlined in the laboratory standard operating procedure manual.
• Orders, evaluated, records, and prints test results using lab computer.
• Works closely with all laboratory personnel to ensure timely client service and accurate test results.
• Maintains and operates lab equipment; able to detect malfunctions and troubleshoot per technical service recommendations.
• Adheres to quality assurance and quality control procedures in performing all testing.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• Current ASCP Certification or any other nationally recognized certification agency
• CPR certification
• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technicians related science from an accredited program
• Must have basic computer skills to operate LIS and HIS systems
• Must have proper communication skills to convey information effectively
• Must have problem solving/decision making skills to identify issues and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Ability to multitask
• Knowledge of basic state and federal laws as applicable to laboratory setting
• Attention to detail and accuracy
