Gulf Coast Paper, a division of Imperial Dade, leading national distributor, is hiring a talented Driver Lead in Houston, TX!

The Driver Lead is responsible for overseeing Driver associates, completing required paperwork and reports, overseeing driver operations, and providing the necessary leadership to ensure the achievement of departmental goals. The Driver Lead is a working role where they will be taking care of daily deliveries while also providing leader ship for driver’s crew.

• Conduct meetings with Driver associates
• Conduct regular work planning and review sessions
• Participate in reviewing, selection, and hiring of new associates
• Participate in counseling of associates as necessary
• Notify Operations Manager/Branch Manager about work-related problems and/or procedures
• Ensure safety regulations and safety policies are followed
• Participate in training seminars and company meetings
• Foster an atmosphere that enhances team cohesiveness
• Provide leadership and direction to ensure adherence to department guidelines, policies and procedures
• Conduct training on safety and regulatory topics

• Computer literacy; e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Excel
• Ability to work well with others
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of Commercial Motor Vehicle operations and regulations
• Knowledge of warehouse functions/operations
• Good organizational, time management and leadership skills
• Must pass DOT physical and driving requirements
