Envision Your Experience
The Science Curriculum Lead will assist in the development of the Twig Science K-8 program as well as other Imagine Learning science products. The Science Curriculum Lead will collaborate with the Head of Science and all counterparts to ensure the overall product is cohesive across all components, meets pedagogical requirements, and is delivered according to schedule. As a key part of this growing company, the Science Curriculum Lead is also able to innovate to continue the tradition of bringing revolutionary products to teachers and students and understands that this sometimes means wearing different hats as the task demands.

  • Position Type
    : This is a temporary, full-time position.
  • Location: In this US-based position your location will be remote.
  • Travel: You can also expect to travel up to 10%, so be sure you have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance and a clean driving record for at least the preceding 39 months.
  • Compensation: Imagine Learning offers competitive total compensation, including incentive opportunities for regular employees.
  • Assist the Head of Science in managing and drive all aspects of content development across planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, and risks.
  • Collaborate with digital teams throughout the entire development process.
  • Create prototypes, guidelines, and templates.
  • Lead, train, and manage internal science team members to ensure product across all components is accurate, grade appropriate and meet any state standards and submission requirements as well as Twig’s brand and quality standards.
  • Provide expert guidance in developing and reviewing student and teacher materials.
  • Monitor workflow between external vendors, editors, designers, and production in collaboration with Project Management.
  • Complete reviews of editorial work for coherence in content, pedagogy, standards coverage, and style.
  • Serve in an editorial capacity when workflow requires it or allows.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitive products as well as best instructional practices related to science education.
  • Support other teams within the company in development of collateral for sales, professional development, marketing, correlations, and other documentation as needed.
  • Other duties as required.
Share Your Expertise
Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role, include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science education and at least 6 years of instructional content development experience for K-8 Science (including content and pedagogy expertise), including at least 2 years leading a curriculum team; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including experience in teaching elementary or middle school science strongly preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
  • Strong understanding of the editorial process for print and digital products from start to finish.
  • Experience developing multi-component products in both print and digital formats.
  • Positive and proactive leadership skills, including an excellent communication skill and an ability to constructively work with members across the team, including writers, editors, designers, and managers.
  • Ability to comfortably use a wide variety of software, including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Smartsheets.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
