Position Summary
The Senior Director, Learning & Talent Development is responsible for creating an employee focused and business enabling strategy in addition to the compelling content to ensure that organizational purpose, performance, and learning drives Huron’s continued growth and globalization. The need to evolve cultural practices, deepen connections, enable growth, and progress performance is the foundation of our growth plans and Huron’s business strategy.

In this role, you will anticipate capabilities needed to execute on strategic priorities and lead cross-functional teams to deliver business impact through purposefully sequenced, continuous learning, talent, and performance initiatives that optimize performance, build our talent pipeline, and sustain targeted behavior change.
Qualifications
This role is responsible for establishing organizational strategy, vision, and program leadership for all learning, talent, career, and performance initiatives across Huron. Core goals include assessment and prioritization of growth needs, as well as design of scalable and strategic programs, processes, and tools that support the success of the firm and our colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the reimagining and transforming the talent process to be more employee-centered, inclusive, streamlined, and action-oriented as we break through traditional approaches in favor of innovative, agile approaches.
  • Lead and manage a team responsible for designing talent management processes and frameworks, including quality conversations, talent reviews, succession planning, high-potential talent identification, career management, proper organizational architecture, etc.
  • Create, administer, and improve annual talent and performance review processes, designed to deliver meaningful developmental conversations between managers and employees.
  • Establish an organization-wide technical skill/reskill engine, including the building of differentiating capabilities at scale across all teams, in service of Enterprise growth and the realization of future business priorities.
  • Collaborate with, and influence business and functional leaders, as a learning, talent, and performance leader, providing well-informed and strategically critical inputs into the organization-wide strategic planning process and identifying opportunities for learning, talent, and performance to yield measurable business outcomes.
  • Leads the learning team in delivering/developing impactful learning programs and content that advance the caliber of Huron’s diverse leadership talent, solidify the embodiment of culture at all levels of the organization, and support business leaders in developing high-performing teams.
  • Establish trusted partnerships as a consultant to business and functional leaders throughout the organization, employing diplomacy, objectivity, and learning sciences to strategize, influence, prioritize, plan, and deliver learning, development, talent, and performance experiences that improve overall firm performance and bench-strength.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and key stakeholders to ensure that the organization's talent is aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Partner with HR Operations to assess and utilize field to support learning and talent programs; define metrics to measure program effectiveness.
  • Directs the development and execution of the organization’s technology roadmap (WorkDay, LMS, LinkedIn Learning integration, etc.) to meet the needs of a growth-oriented organization.
  • Prepare and monitor the Learning & Talent Development budget; proactively implementing responsible program cost controls and ensuring that spending remains aligned with the organization’s overall financial strategy.
Skills / Education / Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience leading a team in the creation and implementation of organization wide learning, talent, and performance initiatives from initial ideation through delivery, resulting in demonstrable impact to business objectives. Board-level experience for succession and development preferred.
  • Exceptional executive presence, with the ability to engage in dialogue and make high-impact presentations at the C-suite level.
  • Expertise and deep experience in driving transformation to achieve specific business imperatives.
  • Provide deep industry expertise and direct experience in developing and implementing the very best talent and leadership strategy, solutions, and programs.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing, working with, and coaching effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Operationally focused with the ability to take the business strategy and translate that into a talent strategy.
  • Proven ability to make business cases for learning and performance support (ROI; Cost/Benefit Analysis) and deliver projected results.
  • Proven ability to establish and monitor learning and performance measures, analyzing trends to adjust learning strategy and design as needed.
  • Expert facilitation and communication skills, including ability to explain complex concepts to audiences with a variety of backgrounds.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and processes in a dynamic, matrix environment with a complex map of stakeholders.
  • Implementation of broad strategy that often requires influencing leaders, including executive leaders, without direct authority.
  • Responsibilities may include hiring, terminating, writing performance reviews, and making other HR decisions for leaders and associates.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Education, Organizational Psychology, Human Capital Management, or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.

The estimated base salary range for this job is $190,000 - $260,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $237,500 - $338,000. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
