Summary
The duties of a mechanic apprentice involve fundamentally preparing for, learning by various mediums, and some performing of troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and installation techniques commensurate with his/her knowledge, problem-solving, and other abilities as he/she progresses through the Maintenance Apprenticeship Program (“Program”). It is fully expected that at the conclusion of the Program, troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance and installation assignments will be performed with minimal supervision. Until qualified as a Mechanic 1, the mechanic apprentice is subject to all provisions of the Program.

Compensation

$30.61 - $ 30.61

• Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Essential Functions

• Diagnoses and repairs malfunctioning electrical equipment using test equipment and senses such as visual observation and smell.

• Works safely by following company safety protocols and wearing PPEs to prevent injuries.

• Complies with company policies including GMP and communicates equipment malfunctions to develop corrective action plans.

• Maintains equipment and work areas by completing PM work orders, replacing damaged parts, and keeping tools and supplies in order.

• Plans and installs wiring and electrical equipment systems while adhering to safety codes and regulations.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Knowledgeable in solid-state electronics, including PLCs.

• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and machine work.

• Proficient in troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Skilled in using CMMS systems and basic Microsoft applications.

• Experience setting up, calibrating, and troubleshooting electrical hardware.

• Knowledgeable in winery processing and receiving equipment repair.

• 3 years of experience in production/manufacturing facilities and/or as a former Gallo employee.

• Completion of an industrial trade program or an associate degree in a relevant field.

Employees must be physically capable of: moderate pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, handling and grasping, twisting/turning, climbing and descending stairs and ladders, carry and lift 75 lbs up stair cases and ladders, lift and move equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
