Full time 3 - 12 hour night shifts 7:00 pm to 7:00 am with +$2.00 per hour shift differential from 11 PM & 7 AM

LPN is responsible for dispensing medications to consumers in the crisis stabilization unit; medication education; assessment of both physical and emotional health; and document services provided. Will serve as shift leader and may provide leadership, as needed, for other Crosswinds Center employees.

Current WV Licensed Practical Nurse licensure required. Must be 18 years of age or older.

One year experience working with individuals diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse is preferred, but not required.

Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.

Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination through WVCARES and a drug screen.

Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provides direct consumer care through established nursing techniques and methods.
• Implements physician orders including the administration of medication.
• Provides training and leadership to other staff, as needed, and serves as shift leader.
• Responsible for maintaining medication in a safe and secure manner.
• Assures all employee and consumer documentation is submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
• Interacts positively with consumers and models appropriate socialization and communication skills.
• Serves as a liaison with medical providers, as needed.
• Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, daily staffing and discharge planning.
• May assist in the evaluation of any admission to the facility.
• Serves as a medical resource for consumers and staff.
• May provide on-call for nursing coverage/emergencies.
• Attends all staff meetings, Seneca required training, workshops or seminars. Maintains current certifications, including but not limited to CPR, First Aid, CPI, Food Handling and Infection Control.
• Observes and responds immediately to any accidents or injuries, medication effects, or any unusual incidents. Reports and documents any unusual event to Program Director or designee according to the Critical Incident Policy.
• Represent Seneca in a positive manner including maintaining a positive attitude, performing duties in a manner in accordance with Seneca’s Mission Statement and Code of Ethics and treats consumers with dignity and respect.
• Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment and follows guidelines outlined in Seneca’s Exposure Control Plan.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
