Position Details:

The Life Insurance Underwriter will provide direct agency support to the General Agency Division. The candidate will work closely with our Life Agents, carriers and external stakeholders. As the Life Insurance Underwriter, you will need a strong understanding of the life insurance industry, products, services, and underwriting practices and procedures.

What to Expect

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Compensation – $60,000.00-$100,000.00 depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Will act as the primary liaison for the life insurance division with any carriers regarding underwriting, policy issues, customer service, and agency concerns.
• Provide support to the life insurance applications and supplemental forms for client review and signature, order exams and labs with appropriate exam vendor.
• Conducts all policy underwriting and regular follow-up with exam vendors and clients until completed application and exam requirements are received.
• Review new insurance applications for missing information, i.e., forms, signatures, policy criteria, etc., before submission to the insurance carrier.
• Acts as a conduit for all issues associated with a case to include coordination with all departments.
• Run, monitor, manage, and review all General Agency Division matrixes/reports.
• Ensure agent has a familiarity with navigating the carrier platforms.
• Perform activities related to agent appointments and agents obtaining their E&O’s, licensing testing, completed carrier training, Anti-Money Laundering courses, with matrixes reporting.
• Provide support and contribute to training content and development for the General Agency.
• Use various systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation, and recording software.
• Ensure and monitor all activity within the General Agency is in full compliance with all local, state, and federal governmental regulatory authority.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2 years of life insurance industry sales experience.
• Active Texas General Lines Life & Health License
• 1 year of life underwriting experience.
• Clear demonstrated knowledge of life insurance, disability, long term care, annuity products and services.
• Associate degree in Business or Management or related fields (preferred, not required).
• Fluent in Spanish (preferred, not required).
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus.
• Results-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• High proficiency in presentation, organization, and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, and Office 365.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and goal oriented.
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
