LIFEGUARDS (part-time, year-round)
Hiring year-round lifeguards to work at Splash Landings!

JOB SUMMARY

Glenview Park District is looking to hire lifeguard staff to work at Splash Landings Indoor Aquatic Center. In this role you will be responsible for:

• Maintain a safe aquatic operation with prevention techniques which include constant surveillance, enforcing pool rules and responding to emergencies with proper care
• Acts as first responder to all minor and medical emergencies at Park Center and is expected to provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services (EMS)
• Assists with cleaning tasks which will include sanitizing and disinfecting locker rooms, break room and high touch areas and other pool operation tasks. Other duties as assigned by the Pool Manager, Aquatic Supervisor and Aquatic Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 15 years old by the first day of work. Candidates under the age of 16 years old, must provide a worker’s permit to work
• No prior experience or training needed. Glenview Park District will train and certified all hired lifeguards prior to their first day of work through Star Guard Elite.
• Must complete swim assessment that tests physical and mental preparedness of applicant:

- Swim 200 yards (8 length of the pool) using front crawl and/or breast stroke

- Tread for 2 minutes; one minute without hands and one minute with hands

- Retrieve a 10 lb. brick from the bottom of the pool (6 feet)

SCHEDULING & PAY

• This is a part-time position hiring both year-round at Splash Landings Indoor Pool
• At Splash Landings Indoor Pool, during the school year, the schedule is flexible, accommodating and varies from week to week. Schedules range from 4-35 hours per week based on staff preference.
• Pay Rates are $14.00 for evening and weekends, $17.00 for weekdays (5:30am-4pm) and $13.00 for training and in service
