Line Cook / Prep Cook

Responsibilities:

• Assist in maintaining the freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
• Understands and complies consistently with the restaurant’s cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies and procedures
• Keep food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces clean and sanitary for proper food handling
• Stocks and maintains appropriate levels of food products at line stations to support a smooth service period
• Bake, roast, fry and grill a variety of meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to our recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
• Understand proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all of our dishes
• Assists in food prep and cleaning assignments during off-peak periods as needed
• Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods
• Closes and opens the kitchen following the checklists for kitchen
• Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement

Requirements:

• Reliable and capable of working independently or following specific directives
• Positive attitude, work ethic and strong sense of integrity
• Ability to work well under pressure with the ability to self-manage timelines and deadlines
• Excellent multi-tasking skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Excellent organization skills and ability to be flexible with changing priorities
• Ability to lift 25lbs and reasonable range of motion such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, stirring, lifting to complete physical tasks related to responsibilities
• Has a passion and love for food and the hospitality industry

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
