POSITION SUMMARY
Wind Turbine Site Operations Manager will oversee the operations and maintenance of the assigned Wind Turbine site by leading on site team in optimizing wind generation, availability, and performance through established troubleshooting and maintenance work with the highest regard for health, safety, and environment compliance. The Site Manager will carry out tasks such as daily reporting, safety meetings, PPE calibrations and compliancy, availability of site WTG’s, monthly reporting, site personnel growth, site personnel compliance with maintenance/troubleshooting procedures, site inventory and site financials. Certified Wind Turbine Technicians must maintain all certifications required for the position. Occasional travel may be required (5% to 10%). The position is considered a local job and is not eligible to earn regular per diem, however per diem is provided while traveling outside of the site.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations and Maintenance Site Manager should be expected to do the following:
- Work with site leadership to execute all contractual obligations and activities set forth with the customers daily, which can include any portion of the electrical, mechanical, or balance-of-plant equipment on site.
- Assist with the troubleshooting and identify root cause of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions.
- May need to help perform repairs or replacements of mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical components to correct malfunctions.
- Conduct maintenance of equipment used for on-site work to ensure it is within compliances.
- Lead and/or assist with other daily work activities, related to all areas of site operations, as directed by manager, with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with engineering support team when in need of additional troubleshooting/diagnostic assistance.
- Complete and maintain required company and client documentation and records, using computer-based service reporting tools and procedures.
- Conduct an on-site maintenance program with limited or no supervision.
- Provide the customer and upper management with daily and monthly reporting.
- Provide upper management with financial review on site performance.
- Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the Pearce Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain required training certifications for position held. These include at a minimum: OSHA 10, NFPA 70E, CPR/AED - First Aid.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous Wind Turbine installation, repair and/or diagnostic experience.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of related mechanical experience in any industry.
- Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Certification in Wind Energy or related field.
- Tower Rescue/Tractel and SRK 11 Certifications.
- Strong teamwork and proactive communication skills.
- Financial and contractual understanding.
- Strong with Microsoft office tools.
- Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision.
- Familiarity with various hand, power, and hydraulic tools.
- Experience with heavy equipment required for site maintenance.
- Working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
