Multiple opportunities for LPN Licensed Inpatient Techs and Inpatient LPNs on units such as Float Pool, Med Surg, ICU, PCU, inpatient Rehab, and more.

Support Carilion’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. Provides practical nursing support in the delivery of quality care for under the direction of the RN. LPN will not take primary patient assignment. Accepts appropriate delegated tasks from Registered Nurse. Partners with the RN in collecting data, planning and implementing patient/resident care. Assists with throughput initiatives with a focus on enhancing the patient and customer experience. May assist with focused education which aides in decreasing readmissions and improving patient experience. Complies with all federal, state, local, Carilion Clinic and departmental policies and standards, as applicable. Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.

Experience: None required.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Virginia. Must obtain/maintain AHA BLS-HCP. In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Specific experience and certifications may be listed in service line specific addendums to this job description. Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Must be able to meet essential job functions.
