Want to work 3 times per week, 12 hour shifts, but get paid for a full work week? We offer the Baylor Plan! We are looking for LPNs to work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday and Monday). We do offer 8 hour shifts as well that are not part of the Baylor Plan, if that fits your schedule needs better!

This position is responsible for providing care and nursing services for developmentally disabled residents, as well as ensures that residents are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing their individual needs, and encouraging their independence.

The LPN is responsible for:

· Assists in the Plan of Care for each resident.

· Assigns resident care to Certified Medication Aides and Certified Nurse Aides and supervise the completion of such assignments.

· Ensures that resident charts are in proper order.

· Performs nursing duties as needed.

· Administers medications and assist in ordering medications as needed.

· Prepares nurses notes, as required.

· Renders skill-nursing care, according to physicians’ orders, and in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards, and administrative policies.

· Helps maintain a physical, social and psychosocial environment which will be conducive to the best interest and welfare of residents.

· Recognizes and interpret symptoms, report residents’ conditions , and assist with or institute remedial measures for adverse developments.

· Communicates with the Director of Nursing, building managers, and staff as needed regarding matters of importance to each position maintaining professional and courteous communications while also maintaining the privacy of protected health information as required by HIPAA.

· Maintains dependable and reliable attendance.

· Maintains a customer-minded approach with residents, their families, and all coworkers.

· Maintains a professional and courteous disposition.

· Abides by a professional code of ethics.

· Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents’ families, visitors and staff.

· Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the residents, residents’ families, employees, facility information and records.

· Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.

· Complies with the attendance policy.

· Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene and appropriate attire.

· Participates in training, in-services, and meetings as required.

· Performs other duties and responsibilities as directed.

Requirements:

Must have a current and valid LPN license in the state of Oklahoma in good standing with the Board of Nursing. A minimum of one year experience working in the nursing field.

Must have qualities of leadership, a genuine interest in serving individuals with developmental disabilities and related fields, the ability to work congenially with others, initiative, good judgment and dependability.

Must have a valid driver's license and access to a private vehicle for business use.

Personal computer experience including word-processing and electronic software knowledge is required. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills are required.

Minimum of one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred. Other preferences include: supportive attitude toward team approach.

Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements include frequent bending, standing, walking; continuous ability for speech communication and hearing in order to communicate with residents, employees and the public, vision for reading, recording and interpreting information, ability to stand for long hours at a time, and the ability to lift/carry a maximum of 25 pounds.

Must have reliable transportation, valid Oklahoma driver’s license, auto insurance as required by the State of Oklahoma, must pass OSBI background check, and no prior listing on the Oklahoma Community Registry. Must utilize good communication skills and be a team player. Must attend and complete all required training and in-services. Must complete, at client’s expense, all state mandated training within the time frames specified, including Medication Administration Training, CPR & 1st Aid, MOPI, and DHS training.
