Non-profit Assisted Living Residence in Rhode Island known for its excellence in care has an opening for a Charge Nurse. $2500 Sign on Bonus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Read Daily Report at the beginning of shifts.
• Supervises nursing care with particular attention to ill Residents.
• Takes vital signs on residents as needed.
• Notes change in condition in residents and notify physician and next of kin.
• Takes verbal and telephone orders from physician and transcribes orders, then transcribes orders as is appropriate according to The Seasons practices.
• Requisitions supplies and equipment. Orders medications according to facility routine.
• Recommends changes in resident care when necessary and communicate this to the Nursing Director and Administrator.
• Charts all pertinent information in resident’s record, using both date and time monthly.
• Call Physicians and Pharmacies as needed to report discrepancies in orders.
• Provides professional leadership to all nursing personnel.
• Informs residents of any changes in their care.
• Administers medication and treatments as ordered by the physician and charts appropriately when needed.
• Assists nurses’ aides and med techs as necessary.
• Fills out incident reports when resident, visitor or employee is injured. Advises employees of facility policy regarding employee injury and proper medical attention.
• Notifies the Director of Nursing and the Administrator of all incidents in a timely manner.
• Fills out interagency referral forms.
• Admits, discharges and transfers residents. Follows through assigning care for new residents.
• Performs routine charting and daily reports.
• Uses universal precautions and ensures use by nursing personnel.
• Implements infection precautions as designated and assures use by other personnel and visitors.
• Procedures are performed according to established method in the procedure manual.
• Body substance precautions and other appropriate infection control practices are utilized with all activities.
• Safety guidelines established by the residence are followed.
• Experience in a memory care community is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Prior long-term care experience is highly desirable. Active RI Nursing License (LPN or RN) is required. Recent grads are encouraged to apply. Supportive working environment with team centered approach and excellent benefits.

Pay is determined based on RN or LPN and experience. Additional Shift Differential for 2nd Shift.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

BCI required. All vaccines are up to date as per RI Department of Health regulations for Assisted Living Residences including COVID-19 vaccine.
