Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced Machinist to fill an opening with a company in Randolph NJ. The ideal candidate should have previous experience as Manual Machinist in manufacturing and machine shop.

Requirements of the Machinist:

• 10 years experience in manufacturing and machine shop
• Basic Computer skills
• Previous experience with Machine Shop, manual milling, lathe, grinding, drilling and all aspects of machining
• Knowledge on design and develop tooling and fixtures using different soft material like brass, aluminum and some plastics.

Responsibilities of the Machinist:

• Work closely with the engineers in designing and developing tooling and fixtures using different soft material like brass, aluminum and some plastics
• Maintain 6S and visual management tools
• Ability to read drawings and complex components
• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machine factors, including zero and reference points, speeds and feeds based on different material, auto feeds etc.
• Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunction or out-of-tolerance machining and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Hold tolerances of .001.
• Selects, aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders.
• Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
• Communicates effectively with engineers, production personnel, CNC operators or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Responsible for own setups and finishing of all parts
• Supplying own basic tools ex. micrometers, calipers etc.
• Work closely with design engineers to build production tooling and fixtures.
• Respond to production needs for fixturing, tooling and making them Poka Yoke
• Perform routine maintenance on machinery
