TICA has an exciting career opportunity for a Machinist in our Jig Shop, who can focus on the detail while machining and manufacturing of machine spare parts for the plant and repair of equipment. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills and the ability and knowledge to manufacture precision parts.

Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. MO-TH

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Ability to read and understand complex drawings (metric and standard), blue prints, and manuals.
• Ability to operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, brakes, shears, and other manual Machine Shop equipment.
• Ability to operate CNC lathes, mill, wire EDM, and other Machine Shop equipment.
• Able to use CAD/CAM software for design and programming purposes.
• Inspect jobs in process and at completion to ensure that standards of workmanship
• Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to communicate to other departments such as Production and Quality, as well as upper Management.
• Thorough understanding of Safety Requirements for Machinist and tool and die work.
• Cultivate an atmosphere that fosters development of Maintenance associates.
• Practice and encourage two-way communication in the department between all levels of associates.
• Ensure thorough understanding and implementation of workplace rules and regulations.
• Perform job duties in compliance with all state and federal regulations and guidelines including OSHA and EPD. Complies with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Required skills and qualifications: Machinist

• Two-year technical degree preferred with 5+ years working experience in a Maintenance function required.
• High level of knowledge in mechanical, Machine shop equipment, and hydraulic systems is required.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relative to plant operation and maintenance with a good understanding of general safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural, team oriented environment.
• Good computer skills (MS Office, CMMS).

Physical Demands

• The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
