Job Summary

Works under the direction of the Building Maintenance Manager performing a variety of skilled jobs including the maintenance and repair of the building and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position:

• Implements all aspects of preventive maintenance program
• Repairs emergency breakdowns as quickly as possible, giving priority to work that is urgently needed
• Performs general plumbing repair such as replacing and unclogging hair traps, unplugging toilets, repairing washers and dryers
• Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC system
• Maintains and replaces electric outlets and light bulbs, rewires or replaces wiring in various equipment including the laundry
• Performs repairs and preventative maintenance on washers, dryers, kitchen equipment and appliances
• Performs carpentry and painting as assigned
• Assists in maintaining the grounds in a clean and orderly fashion
• Plows parking lots with company truck; cleans and salts sidewalks
• Keeps maintenance shop and all work areas clean
• Performs a variety of related duties as assigned
• Works on call and overtime as required

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; supplementary education is desirable
• Must be able to read, write and follow instructions
• Prior building maintenance experience plus an understanding of electrical equipment, plumbing, building maintenance, carpentry and ancillary equipment required
• Driver license is required
