What you will do:
- Performing general day-to-day equipment and facility upkeep necessary to maintain a high level of operational efficiency and equipment/facility serviceability.
- Ensuring that accurate and adequate work orders are written as required on all equipment and facility discrepancies and that appropriate and timely actions are taken to correct outstanding discrepancies.
- Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in coordinating with production supervisors in scheduling of all, non-emergency scheduled and unscheduled equipment and facility maintenance.
- Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in ensuring that critical production equipment spare parts and critical facility system spare parts are either on hand or readily available from external resources.
- Ensuring that the Maintenance Supervisor is made immediately aware of equipment or facility issues that may affect safety, quality or production.
- Coordinating with the Maintenance Supervisor, OEM and other technical representatives in resolving equipment performance issues, equipment malfunctions/diagnostics, and equipment modifications.
- Assisting the production supervisors as necessary to ensure smooth, safe, consistent and quality operation of all process and facility equipment.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. frequently during entire shift.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to stoop and bend frequently.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders.
- Capable of entering and working in a confined space.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures.
- Attend safety meetings as required.
- Fork Lift Operator training.
- Other training as required.
What you will bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Must be physically and medically capable of wearing a respirator during entire work shift.
- Good work habits.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- At least six-years’ work experience in a similar or related industrial position.
- Must have a thorough working knowledge of typical industrial mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, steam and environmental systems.
- Must be a proficiency cutter and welder (technical college training preferred).
- Must have well-developed fabricating skills.
- Must have knowledge and experience in performing preventive maintenance of industrial type equipment and industrial facilities.
- Must have knowledge and experience in identifying and ordering repair parts.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, employee handbook, operating/maintenance instructions and procedural documents.
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and division.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
