POSITION SUMMARY:

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Maintenance Lead position ensures that the YMCA is maintained to the highest standards and that all building systems are operated as efficiently as possible to provide the Association with the best possible returns while fully satisfying member, tenant, and employee expectations. This individual will ensure that current maintenance policies and procedures are followed and updated as required.


Note: we are hiring for two positions
:

  • Central Branch: Full-time position, schedule TU-FR 4:30 am-3:00 pm
  • South + Central Branches: Full-time position (time to be split between two locations). Schedule: South: WE-TH 8 am-4:30 pm, Central: FR 1:30 pm-10 pm, SA 8am-4:30 pm, SU 9 am-5:30 pm
  • Pay: $17.50/hour, full time with benefits

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Keep the generator, fire extinguisher and emergency lighting systems functioning properly in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Test pool chemistry and make adjustments as required.
  • Maintain and repair general lighting in parking lot and facility including underwater pool lights.
  • Responsible for operation and maintenance of all aquatic, and HVAC mechanical equipment.
  • Responsible for operation and maintenance of all fitness equipment.
  • Oversee and participate as required in landscape maintenance operations, including sprinkler irrigation.
  • Responsible for cold weather maintenance and operations, including snow removal and de-icing.
  • Maintain security system to ensure safe environment and reduce property damage.
  • Assist in the coordination of outside contractors and vendors.
  • Reports maintenance and safety issues to the Facilities Director promptly and provides recommendations for repair.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year technical program in HVAC or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Three years in a like facility, commercial building, or building maintenance preferred but not required.
  • Willing to provide on the job training to the right candidate.
  • One specialized certification in: Certified Pool Operator, Low Pressure Boiler Operator, Gas Mechanic 1 License, or other applicable professionalism certification.
  • Familiar with all job safety requirements such as PPE and Lock Out-Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Familiarity with direct digital controls for building management systems.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens, and other job certifications, or obtain within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and meet all requirements of the YMCA Diver Policy.
