Danone North American is hiring Maintenance Mechanics based in our West Jordan, Utah manufacturing facility.

Here at the West Jordan Danone plant, we make yogurt products like Danimals, Activia, Wallaby! We even made yogurt for Chick-Fil-A!

Job Details for Maintenance Mechanics:

• Adheres to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) standards and policies by taking personal responsibility to prevent injury/illness to oneself & others from exposure to hazards. Follows all permit procedures including but not limited to lock-out/tag-out, confined space, arc flash and work at heights as required.
• Daily utilizes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document maintenance activities including time spent, parts used, and description of work performed, abnormalities identified and follow up actions needed.
• Performs maintenance activities – preventative, corrective, breakdown and work orders to improve equipment performance, reliability and product quality in a timely manner as scheduled or assigned.
• Uses reasoning and analysis to troubleshoot equipment & parts failures to improve equipment performance during maintenance activities as well as by participating in focused improvement activities as assigned.

Essential Skills for Maintenance Mechanics:

• Demonstrates a strong competency in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic & hydraulics and basic computer skills.
• Ability to use powered industrial equipment. (forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack)
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, electrical drawings/schematics, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports, SOP’s and correspondence as well as speak effectively to employees and customers.
• Strong mathematical skills to calculate, compute, resolve, interpret, and to formulate for problem solving. Thorough understanding of mechanical procedures as related to manufacturing maintenance applications.
• Maintains a strong knowledge of machine functions, equipment safety hazards, power source, stored energy, pinch points, and possesses experienced welding skills.

Education & Requirements for Maintenance Mechanics:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 1-2+ years of Mechanic experience.
• If less than 1-2yrs experience, we look for Education equivalent.
