The Maintenance Technician I position is responsible for performing diversified duties to assist with maintaining facility equipment and property according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of CFL’s goals and objectives.

A Maintenance Technician I is not only responsible for daily tasks/work order completion but is expected to work in and around the Center of Family Love’s residents. Calm, supportive behavior is expected at all times when interacting with residents and other employees.

Qualifications

Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; auditory and visual skills; ability to bend, stoop, sit, stand, reach, and lift items weighing 50 pounds or less; satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment physical as required.

Experience as maintenance technician preferred, including having a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems, knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods, a working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices, manual dexterity and problem-solving skills, good physical condition and strength, and a willingness to work overtime when necessary.

High school diploma or equivalent required; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology, or relevant field is a plus.

Responsibilities

1. Is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and repair of the Center of Family Love grounds and facilities, to include light carpentry, electrical, and plumbing, as well as other general maintenance functions related to the buildings.

2. Responsible for daily trash and debris removal

3. Perform light maintenance of electrical systems, such as replacing light bulbs and sockets, and cleaning and repairing circuit breaker panels.

4. Responsible for assembling furniture as well as moving items such as furniture, boxes, medical equipment, etc.

5. Assist with Vehicle Fuel Preparation and weekly inspections, including verifying that each vehicle starts.

6. Assist in coordinating monthly alarm system drills.

7. Perform manual repairs when necessary, such as fixing/changing locks, door repair and replacements, replacing windows, etc.

8. Conduct general upkeep procedures, such as tree and shrub trimming, lawn maintenance, and other tasks as assigned including painting and carpentry.

9. Responsible for emergency response including, but not limited to providing emergency/unscheduled repairs.

10. Responsible for the maintenance area daily including clean up, trash, organization, etc.

11. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.

12. Report any faulty operations, defective material, etc., and any unusual situations to Facilities Director.

13. Must protect the privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to the residents, employees, facility information and records.
