The Manager, Benefits & Compensation person will assist the Sr. Director, Human Resources, Benefits & Compensation with the planning, development and implementation of new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to align with the company's goals and competitive practices.

Manages and administers day-to-day benefit responsibilities for the organization. Maintains the benefit plans design within the HRIS system. Suggest cost control procedures and/or plan design changes to ensure market satisfactory coverage at a reasonable cost to the Company and its employees. Keeps current on benefit trends, regulation and law, including ERISA, to support and helps maintain benefit compliance for the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compensation

  • Manage compensation functions including salary structure maintenance and pay program administration.
  • Ensure that base pay, incentive pay and benefits plans remain competitive and conform to the current compensation strategy.
  • Direct data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity and other compensation studies.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
  • Provides advice to corporate staff on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
  • Research creative solutions to specific compensation related programs and submit findings to the Sr. Director, Human Resources, Benefits & Compensation
  • Oversees the participation in salary surveys and monitors salary survey data to ensure the achievement of corporate compensation objectives.
  • Manage staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.

Benefits

· Oversee the management of the day-to-day administration of health benefit programs, including but not limited to, medical, dental, life, disability, vision, 401k and “other” benefits related to employee engagement, such as wellness, discounts and specialty events.

· Act as back up for the day-to-day contact for employees and co-functions as contact for carriers, vendors and Accounts Payable.

· Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of benefit billings and submits invoice for approval to the Sr. Director of HR, Benefits and Compensation.

· Participate in annual renewal process, by the Broker of Record, to review and compare existing Company benefits with those of other comparable employers.

· May participate industry and/or market based surveys.

· Draft and/or revise benefit announcement material and/or information, typically with support of Senior Management and/or Broker of Records.

· Maintain current on changes to benefit related, regulations and laws, such as, but not limited to, COBRA, ACA, HIPPA, ERISA, DOL and IRS.

· Manage leaves of absence program (Personal Leaves and Family Medical Leaves and COBRA) and propose improvements.

· Maintain the ACA employee status data in ADP WFN and ensure compliance for 1095-C annual reporting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (ideally with Human Resource, benefits, and/or compensation concentration) required.

· Three to five years of experience in Benefits Administration and Compensation with exposure to health/welfare and 401k plans, process improvement and employee communications.

· Minimum 2 years of experience managing subordinates

· Quantitative and analytical skills and ability to perform advanced calculations and evaluate results.

· Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.

· ADP WFN system knowledge is a plus, but other HRIS products are acceptable.

· Benefits (CBP, CEBS), Compensation (CCP) or Human Resources certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) a plus.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations affecting Company.

· Responsible for participating in quality assurance, compliance and in-service and continuing education activities as requested by Company.

· Responsible for performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
