POSITION SCOPE:

Working to support strategic and operational business objectives. This position exists to execute the manufacturing technology strategy and manage the efforts of the team. This position will work directly with the business unit’s management to define business objectives, technology plans and projects. The Manager will also lead efforts to ensure the company’s information and processes are functioning appropriately to support business unit operations and be responsible for managing all activities related to project implementations and business transformational solutions for manufacturing operations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consult closely and develop a working relationship with manufacturing and supply chain management teams to support business plans and objectives through the identification, evaluation and prioritization of opportunities to leverage the business processes. The position will also work with the various business units to develop and execute a strategic plan to utilize and develop actionable information in support of BU objectives and strategies.

• Establish and manage the various Rust-Oleum project development and support functions to ensure effective and efficient procedures and programs. For this purpose the position holder initiates, guides, organizes, plans and coordinates specific activities in the manufacturing technology information management area including decisions regarding resource management and allocation, project planning, quality assurance, employee development and personnel issues.
• Manages Rust-Oleum’s transformation to drive innovation and manufacturing technology modernization.
• Works to solve manufacturing facilities toughest problems, providing end-to-end support to ensure value is delivered and sustainable.
• Partner with key stakeholders to execute strategic functional roadmaps and manage the associated project portfolio.
• Provide technical vision and execution to ensure that current and new manufacturing processes are robust, efficient, and meet current quality and regulatory expectations.
• Engage with senior operations business leaders to develop and execute on a strategic manufacturing plan
• Knowledge and experience with SAP’s digital manufacturing technology
• Current with trends and technology across the digital manufacturing landscape
• Manage a small team of direct reports
• Project management experience a plus

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

• Expert knowledge with at least 7 years’ experience in:
  • Project management and implementation of large-scale business projects.
  • Experience leading innovation and strategic IT projects.
  • Management with direct reports.
  • Enterprise-class manufacturing applications and experience with integrating manufacturing technology to ERP platforms.
• Ability to execute multiple strategic initiatives on time as well as the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• Substantial knowledge of business functions, processes and supporting technology in an industrial company. Specific business experience in operational and manufacturing technology platforms.
• Requires a thorough understanding of implementing manufacturing technology to improve operation business processes.
• Influencing technology recommendations and decisions, ensuring investments are aligned with quality and regulatory objectives.
• Manage and develop a small team of technical resources focused on manufacturing objectives, serving as technical resources or subject matter experts on the use of related technologies.
• Knowledge of environmental and health systems a plus.
• Experience in collaborating across the supply chain to improve process outcomes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Demonstrated ability to work with business leadership to develop, successfully implement and support strategic business solutions that meet business unit requirements and support overall business executives.
• Demonstrated a basic understanding of the infrastructure and expert understanding of the software used to run the business processes at Rust-Oleum.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex business initiatives staffed with internal IT, contract and business unit resources. Has experience in both the technical and organizational change management components of projects. Understands and promotes standardized project methodologies, practices and standards.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills. Understands how to communicate in various circumstances and with varied audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to manage direct-report employees including skills development, career development and performance management.
