We are looking for a future caregiver to take on the role of an Coordinator PAWS Volunteer within our world-class team of caregivers. Within this role, you will develop, implement, and manage the operations of the PAWS volunteer pet program.

Responsibilities:

  • Interviews and selects PAWS volunteers.
  • Trains and certifies PAWS volunteers.
  • Plans and facilitates activities to recognize PAWS volunteers.
  • Maintains files to meet The Joint Commission standards for PAWS volunteers/activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management, education, business administration or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

Certifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum one year related experience (i.e. volunteer/human resource management, public relations or training).
  • One year of previous experience in management of PAWS pet volunteer program.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office and laboratory equipment
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
