Summary
Birdsong Hearing Benefits is looking for a Proposal Lead Analyst, to own the bidding process for new business as Birdsong embarks on its scale up journey to become the market leading TPA in hearing benefits. This role is responsible for managing the proposal development process for complex, custom bids, from receipt of the Requests for Proposal (RFPs) through proposal submission. This individual will have specialized knowledge of the line of business segments respective to drive hearing benefit manager engagement with payors, particularly in Medicare Advantage, with the ability to support other segments as needed (Managed Medicaid, Commercial as well as state Vocal Rehabilitation). The Proposal Lead Analyst is responsible for concurrently managing multiple proposals with aggressive deadlines. This role will also support follow-up, finalist, and contracting activities, as needed. Public Sector and/or Health Plan experience preferred.
Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and design process and playbook for proposal and bid management to include all relevant stake holders and coordinate inputs and dependencies
  • Manage multiple assigned proposal projects simultaneously to include: analysis, research, writing/editing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs)/Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Negotiate requirements in any RFP questionnaires with appropriate cross-functional SMEs
  • Create proposal documents and other exhibits to support the defined sales strategy and strengths of company’s product and service offerings
  • Manage and facilitate requirements to ensure they are in line with the corporate position working with cross-functional SMEs to get agreements to requirements and increase our overall requirements compliance
  • Work cross-functionally to execute proposal projects, including cross- functional team communications, timelines, and follow-up, to ensure accurate, complete, and quality input from operational areas to complete proposal production for on time delivery.
  • Collaborate with the marketing department to generate proposal and sales documents while adhering to corporate marketing standards, department guidelines, templates, and styles.
  • Analyze costs, risks, and benefits of proposed contracts and work with the pricing and benefits team to develop an appropriate benefit design, product formulary and ensure appropriate and competitive pricing for proposals accordingly
  • Plan, execute and drive all aspects of the proposal process life cycle from initial receipt of proposal request through completion and delivery
  • Coordinate production and bid submission to ensure accurate and on- time delivery.
  • Resolve issues and conflict with appropriate escalation while managing ambiguity
  • Contribute to culture of continuous improvements and share ownership of process improvement efforts.
  • Display sound critical thinking skills and bring forth solutions to processes.
  • Actively participate in ad hoc projects and process ownership/responsibility, working with both internal partners and cross-functional partners to define, develop, and implement process improvements.
  • Provide training, coaching, and mentoring of new cross-functional team members as it relates to proposals and/or projects applicable to the Proposal Lead Analyst role.
Qualifications:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QuALIFICATIONS
  • Public Sector and/or Health Plan experience preferred
  • Experience with similar responsibility or a deep understanding of B2B sales processes to payors and/or procurement processes in health plans is a requirement, with an emphasis on the understanding of what payors expect and value from bids and in the vendor selection process
  • Hearing benefit or other supplemental benefit experience is a plus
  • Ability to project manage multiple outstanding bids simultaneously and drive progress with all contributors as well as an ability to tie everything together and manage dependencies to the timeline
  • Ability to relate to and effectively work with a diverse group of individuals, and people collaboratively and diplomatically
  • Proven ability to engage internal and external constituencies
  • The person must possess an uncanny ability to handle and to resolve conflict in a productive and direct manner
  • Excellent oral and written communications are a must. The person must have a proven experience in technical writing with the ability to “tell a story”, through a deep understanding of our organization and our value proposition
  • An appreciation of graphical presentation and appearance and an ability to ensure any material communicated to external parties is of high quality and represent the Birdsong brand values

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business, Pre-Law, English, Journalism or Communication or equivalent work experience
