Manufacturing Automation Technician
Job description
SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Automation Tech. will be responsible for driving improvements in process related areas with a specific focus on automation. Additionally, they will successfully integrate new sensors, cameras, robots, etc. to manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Integrate software technology that communicates with different machines and processes.
- Write or manipulate Programmable Logic Control (PLC) ladder logic.
- Wiring and mounting control boxes.
- Specify and/or communicate with various sensors on an array of CNC machines.
- Read and/or write to different types of databases such as Access, SAP, or SQL.
- Designing, ordering, and implementing automation.

- The ability to research and analyze various, different types of data information.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.
- Ability to organize, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Developed understanding and wide application of technical principals, theories, and concepts in the field.
- Good understanding of project management.
- Able to work and communicate effectively with other engineers, designers, purchasing and suppliers to develop products from concept through commercialization in a cross-functional team.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills.
- Exercises good judgment when communicating to all levels in the business organization.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage project closure
- Ability to work independently and effectively with cross functional teams.
- Ability to travel for classes, seminars, and/or shows to stay up to date on anything related to automation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Must be going to school for Bachelors’ in Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or, equivalent field of study (such as, Mechatronics Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering) is required.
- Proficiency communicating via ethernet/IP, serial, digital, and analog I/O is required.
- Specific experience in computer science technologies along with coding in Java, C, C++, or Labview is preferred.
