Description:Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Associate to support the Machining Operations Center (MOC) located within our Orlando, FL campus. The MOC specializes in producing ultra-precision machined components that are the foundation of infrared and electro-optical targeting systems used primarily for defense applications.

Responsibilities may include one or more of the following:
  • Create work instructions detailing the appropriate equipment, methods, special processes, tools and fixturing required to manufacture our complex components.
  • Design of special tools and fixtures required to support manufacturing.
  • Provide manufacturing floor support as necessary to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
  • Perform Root Cause analysis and implement effective Corrective Action to address quality related issues.
  • Investigate, propose, and implement technology to reduce costs and/or improve quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in
Engineering/Technology or related discipline
Entry Level
Interest in machining capabilities, methods, cutting
tools, and fixtures used to manufacture precision
components
Basic understanding of Computer Aided
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Desired Skills:
General understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical assembly methods, and material properties of common aerospace materials (i.e.; aluminum alloys, stainless steels, titanium, etc.).
Basic drawing / GD&T understanding
Effective Computer Aided Design (CAD) skills – PTC Creo / NX / equivalent.
Fundamental knowledge of manual and/or CNC machines (mills, lathes, etc.).
Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma tools, including Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
