Hobart Brothers Company, an Illinois Tool Works Company, is a recognized leader in the manufacturing and distribution of welding consumables worldwide.

Responsible to implement production and processing methods and controls to meet customer based quality standards. Utilizing statistical principles and ITW’s proprietary Toolbox kit, this position will ensure that processes are centered, capable and in control; reduce process variations; and resolve special cause variations through the application of process engineering fundamentals and advanced process control tools. This is a first shift position however schedule flexibility is required.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure process parameters are centered and within acceptable random variation.
• Analyzes operating problems, develops solutions, and implements corrective actions.
• Support Manufacturing Business Plan opportunities.
• Adjust process variables to ensure product performance and meet quality and cost goals.
• Lead/participate/support projects to improve process performance from existing baseline.
• Lead/participate/support projects to improve equipment and system performance.
• Leads/Participates/Supports other Process, Product and Operation teams on specific projects related to improve efficiencies, cost, performance, product introduction, etc.
• Coach, train, and transfer knowledge to operators and other technical resources.
• Ability to analyze and use data to drive process and equipment improvements
• Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects at one time
• Knowledge of customer needs, product and machine specifications, basic cost drivers and the Critical Process Variables (CPVs) that impact these elements
• Knowledge and experience with Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, Kaizen events, Six Sigma.
• Competitively drive results

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or similar discipline.
• Understanding of project management and project engineering fundamentals.
• Working knowledge of advanced statistical tools used to reduce variations. Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification is a plus.
• Flexible, open-minded team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving capabilities to work effectively in corporate, manufacturing and team environments.
• roficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience leading focused improvement or Kaizen projects.
