Position Summary/Objectives:
New Mexico United seeks to hire a Marketing Coordinator to help fulfill all aspects of the company’s marketing efforts and objectives. The ideal candidate is a frontiersman; forward thinking in strategy and execution, a lover of the United brand eager to spread the black & yellow gospel to all who have yet to hear it, and remind those who have heard it that there’s not a moment to be missed. This person possesses a keen eye for excellent marketing, the skillset to turn a great idea into a great campaign, and a natural instinct for what is and is not on brand. This position demands an expert ability to ideate, create, manage, monitor, and adapt to constant learnings from the successes and failures of marketing campaigns across all avenues. You’ve got to know cringe to know cool, and you’re work will continue to elevate United as the unifying factor that all New Mexicans can agree on.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate marketing, advertising, and promotional campaigns across all areas of opportunity including but not limited to email campaigns, digital & social, billboard, TV, radio, text, and any other area of opportunity in collaboration with department leadership. Campaigns should be in alignment with company-wide goals and can be specific but not limited to ticketing, brand awareness, merchandise, partnerships, team news, foundation support, and more. Provide leadership consistent updates on the performance of these efforts and look for ways to pivot and/or improve campaigns in real time.
- Manage the budgeting for all marketing efforts and ensure appropriate uses of funding.
- Manage info@newmexicoutd.com and be the first point of contact for anyone coming to the club through this forum with a question of any kind.
- Manage the New Mexico United website, keep all pages and information up to date regularly, consistently honing SEO, and coordinating with department heads to accurately represent team news, ticketing information, partners, matchday info, and any other relevant information on the website in the most efficient and accessible manner possible.
- Lead the New Mexico United email marketing efforts across all lists and purposes, collaborating with staff across all verticals to optimize the performance of emails, the efficiency of communication to fans, the best possible representation of partners, and constantly explore ways to grow the club’s email lists. Provide leadership consistent updates on the performance of email campaigns and look for opportunities to improve and be original.
- Collaborate with members of the Merchandise and Creative teams to maintain, update and optimize the online ecommerce store. Consistently look to incorporate merchandise releases, products and goals into all areas of the brand’s marketing.
- Collaborate with the creative team to ensure that all campaigns are paired with the strongest possible content and creative, assisting in the ideation and execution of shoots and content gathering activities for specific campaigns as needed.
- Attend team meetings regularly, sharing insights and updates on campaigns while being prepared to contribute ideas and feedback to the rest of the company anytime a new marketing effort is being formulated.
- Assist with special projects and assignments as business dictates
- When needed be prepared to assist in the execution of day-to-day marketing activities including but not limited to assisting on video and photo shoots, assisting in team-sponsored and external events as needed, and more.
- Be available to assist in the day-to-day management and rotation of social media responsibilities when required. This may include but is not limited to posting pre-slated content, monitoring, liking, and responding to users when appropriate, and resharing content across various platforms.
- Liaise with all company departments in the front office to maintain accurate and current knowledge related to frequently asked questions, upcoming events or promotions, and all aspects of United products including the team and players themselves.
- Analyze and provide reports on a basis determined with your supervisor to the team indicating trends in supporter interactions.
- Suggest strategies and methods for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with digital media technologies and latest trends with the intention to incorporate emerging strategies into United’s marketing efforts when appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Excellence in all forms of communication, especially copywriting, customer service, interpersonal communication within a team of interdisciplinary staff.
- Extensive knowledge of SEO, front end + backend web development tools, specifically wordpress, shopify, and webflow.
- Extensive understanding of marketing metrics, data analysis tools, and accurate reporting. Experience with Blinkfire and google analytics preferred.
- Experience with and knowledge of digital advertising tools including but not limited to Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Youtube Pre Roll, Tiktok Ads, Twitter Ads.
- Experience in using Mailchimp and crafting dynamic, engaging email campaigns that communicate effectively without becoming a laborious form of content.
- B.A. or B.S. in business, marketing, advertising or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in business, marketing, advertising or a related field
- High level of analytical skills and conceptual creative ability
- An enthusiastic and vocal collaborator aspiring to best possible outcomes for the team who can be confident in their skillset and back their points with proven data or results
- Ability to multitask and problem solve
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment occasionally at irregular hours around games and events as dictated by scheduling
- Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, great listening skills, and exceptional organizational skills
- Enthusiasm for learning, unlearning, and relearning.
- Ability to self-manage and self-motivate.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding and love of the sport is preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish + English) is preferred.
- Knowledge in the Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred but not required.
