In this important role you will lead mechanical engineering excellence and represent the mechanical engineering team across the company.
What you will do:
- Lead mechanical and thermal design for advanced technology concept development
- Coordinate design activity with internal and external partners
- Prepare presentations and demonstrations that highlight the concepts being developed to Atom Power leadership
- Lead external partners and suppliers to deliver outcomes that accelerate technology development
- Support technical design reviews
- Collaborate with other leaders to ensure product and company success
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years experience in new product development (we design safety-critical electro-mechanical products)
- 5+ years of technical leadership experience
- Expertise designing with 3D solid modeling software (we use Solidworks)
- Experience developing products for high-volume production
- Expertise designing with aluminum, sheet metal, and plastics
- Proficient in FEA simulations and analysis (we use Solidworks)
- Proficient in thermal simulations and analysis (we use Solidworks)
- Proficient in electronics packaging
- Proficient in compliance regulations (we work with UL)
