Summary: Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for trouble shooting and maintaining all equipment used for production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
- Reads blueprints and schematics
- Uses measuring tape (metric is preferred)
- Use of standard hand tools where applicable
- Use of power tools such as electric and pneumatic tools where applicable
- Use of calibration tools
- Installation and removal of fasteners such as nuts, bolts and rivets
- Occasionally apply adhesives and sealants to bus processes
- Install and repair of pneumatic brake systems, cooling systems, and axel alignment
- HVAC knowledge (applicable areas)
- Understanding low and high voltage systems and electrical wiring
- Knowledge of assorted pumps and valves
- Comprehension in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems in machinery
- Able to repair and replace burnt motors, change maintenance components, repair leaks or any malfunction in machinery
- Synthesizes complex or diverse information

Education/Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.), or equivalent from two-year college, or technical school, or two to four years related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Microsoft Office
Certificates and Licenses:
No certificates required but Basic Electrical, Mechanical, Construction/General Contracting, Paint, and Welding certificates preferred
