Well established Family Medical Practice in Burke, VA is looking for a full-time Medical Assistant who understand the dynamics of working in a medical practice. We are a mid-sized family practice that has been in the Burke community since 1980. We provide exceptional and compassionate care to patients of all ages, from birth to end-of-life. We strive to create and maintain long term relationships with our patients while working in an extremely fast-paced environment. Other qualities we are looking for include:
- Reliability is your best asset - looking for a mature person who understands shift schedules and the importance of being on time to participate in a team environment - different shifts vary Monday through Friday, with a short Saturday morning shift once every 6-8 weeks
- self-starter with organizational skills and knows how to prioritize throughout the busy day
- prior experience with Electronic Health Records a requirement (Privia Medical Group and Athena EHR experience is a major plus)
- pleasant and compassionate with a positive attitude - AT ALL TIMES
- excellent communication skills and ability to pay close attention to detail in a complex health environment
- clinical experience in a medical practice - especially with regards to patient care that includes calling patients with results and managing their care - this can be an extremely difficult task that needs proper care and attention while performing, with excellent documentation skills required
- flexibility to jump in and help when needed, and the drive to learn how each provider works with their patients
- a positive team player that will help their staff mates at any time is a must in this family oriented practice!
Hours are Mon-Thus - 7am-8pm Fri - 7am-3pm and Saturday shifts are 8am-12pm (one evening a week, and Saturday shift every 6 weeks) Our staff are all highly flexible and fill in when needed.
Prior experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred; experience in family practice, internal medicine, or pediatrics is a plus. COVID-19 considerations:
All patients and staff wear masks while in the office. Our staff are all fully vaccinated as well. We provide virtual visits for patients who are sick and have drive up Covid testing in our back parking lot.

- EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
