We are a busy pain management group seeking a Medical Assistant with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. The Medical Assistant assists our Physicians and Mid-Levels in the clinic with documenting the patient encounter into the EMR system. They also perform various patient care tasks and exhibit teamwork characteristics with Physicians and other staff members. This career-oriented position opportunity is perfect for someone that enjoys being challenged and working closely with providers in a fast-paced environment.
Additional clinical and administrative tasks include (but are not limited to):
· Performs general nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
· Collect patient vitals, medical history and perform screening per provider instructions.
· Obtain lab/imaging reports as needed.
· Complete forms and requisitions as needed as well as manage patient charts to ensure information is complete.
· Follow prescription refill policy and procedures.
· Scheduling procedures and office visits as needed.
· Answer and screen telephone calls, take messages and provide appropriate information to patients over the phone after speaking with the Physician or Mid-Levels.
· Ensure rooms are fully stocked and cleaned.
· Assist with in-office procedures as needed.
· Returning phone messages one weekend every 4-6 weeks as needed.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by Medical Assistant Manager or Clinical Operations Director.
Competencies:
· Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients
· Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
· Maintains a positive, caring attitude towards patients.
· Good computer skills using a medical management application and prior experience with EMR is preferred.
· Possess a strong work ethic and high level of professionalism
· Strong attention to detail.
· Demonstrates initiative, insight, and judgment in the decision-making process.
· Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and procedures.
Educational and Experience Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Related Medical Assistant experience preferred
· Bilingual is a plus but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.50 per hour
