Ready to join in?* We are looking for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to be based at the Orthopedic Building in Chicago, IL near the Illinois Medical District. This is a Monday through Friday opportunity.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assists Cast Room staff and as directed by physician, removes staples, sutures and external fixation devices, as well as collects or assists with the collection of specimens, including venipuncture and C&S, and preparing specimens for processing.
  • Venipuncture, specimen collection and processing.
  • Prepares injections and performs routine laboratory tests.
  • Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
  • Instruct patients regarding care of casts, splints, dressings, DME, etc.
  • Wound care as directed by physician.
  • Adjusts crutches and canes to fit patient.
  • Perform duties of co-workers and subordinates as workload dictates.
  • Travel to the MOR facilities.

Education and/or Experience*

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university preferred.
  • New grads or experienced candidates are welcomed to apply.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration

  • Certified as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Professional certification in phlebotomy from a recognized program.
  • 1-2 years of Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy experience.
