Basic Function: The Medical Scribe and Assistant works to facilitate patient flow through the medical practice. Spanish Fluency required. Excellent experience for someone with future goal of attending medical or NP/PA/Nursing/Med school. Many of our past employees are in PA/NP/Medical Schools. You will also get Dr. Singh's Letter of Recommendation and help with your application.

Responsibilities: For each patient seen with medical provider the Scribe/Assistant will:

• Records details of chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past medical history, social history, family medical history, disease risk factors, medications, other pertinent data and allergies into the EHR.

• Record details of physical exam noting abnormalities and patient general condition while the physician performs the examination.

• Assists clerical staff with office procedures as requested by the physician

• Performs patient callbacks as requested by the physician

• Enter data into EMR as directed by the physician.

• Take and enter vital signs and keep track of labs/imaging studies to be reviewed during the visit.

• Set up and assist with procedures

• Ensures that patient rooms are maintained and cleaned in a timely manner, prepares and stocks medical supplies

• Performs other duties, as assigned, in order to promote the efficient functioning of the department. All information is obtained directly from the provider and/or patient; no medical decision-making or medical advice is done by the Scribe/Assistant

• Submit orders as requested by the physician and check for the results of those orders.
