Midtown NYC Allied Health professional office searching for a Medical Billing Assistant - responsible for collecting, posting and managing the account payments, and for assisting with the follow up regarding claims submission claims and following up with insurance companies. Some reception work

Responsibilities include:

Handling insurance claim denials, EOBs, and AR.

Researching claim status and denial reasons for claims. Resolve, resubmit and/or appeal all denied and partially paid claims in a timely manner. Must consistently and aggressively pursue insurance companies for reimbursement on claims.

Verifying insurance coverage, deductibles, and out of network benefits.

Contacting patients when necessary to follow up on balances due and reconciliation.

Phone calls, scheduling and patient follow-up

Using a polite, professional manner when answering phones and in direct patient care.

Registering patients and ensuring all updated information is obtained.

Accurately enter patient charges, payments and scheduling.

Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, referring doctors, and ancillary staff.

Should be extremely organized and have strong communication skills.

Maintaining HIPAA, privacy and confidentiality standards.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
