AllPro Government is currently hiring in the Spokane area for an experienced Medical Director with at least 2 years work experience.

This assignment is a Government Contract and will need to follow Federal policies (i.e. – background and drug-screening).

Facility: Federal Health Care Facilities

Location: Washington State – 3 federal healthcare facilities

Available Shifts: Monday to Friday 8a – 430p – 40 hours weekly M-F, and on call

Rate: $353k-364k/year (depending on certifications and experience)

Certificate/License:

• Licensed physician in the State of Washington
• Federal DEA Certification
• Medical Specialty License or Certification
• Board certified in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
• CPR Certified
• Current TB screen
• Current COVID vaccination record

Requirements:

• Possess a strong technical command over medical practice skills required for provision of medical care services as well as a strong background in leadership and management.
• Knowledge and skills of the position include but are not limited to: licensed medical provider principles and techniques; mental health concepts; geriatric medical care; physical and occupational therapy; safety and regulatory guidelines and compliance; principles of management; staff development and training; budget preparation and administration; principles of civil service and personnel administration; infection control, quality assurance and medical management.
• Skills to communicate effectively through various mediums and to a wide variety of audiences or individuals are essential. In addition, skills of effective planning, decision-making and conflict resolution are key.
• Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of experience with an elderly patient population which may include experience in a long-term care facility.

Job Description:

The Medical Director leads/manages all operations related to primary care for the medical care of the residents of the facilities of approximately 420 residents.

• Provide the facilities with ongoing guidance in the development and implementation of resident care policies, including review and revision of existing policies.
• Collaborate with others on the care team regarding the policies and protocols that guide clinical decision making (for example, interpretation of clinical information, treatment selection, and monitoring of risks and benefits of interventions).
• Guide and help oversee the implementation resident care policies and procedures including, admission policies, care practices, delivery of care services, clinical assessments, analysis of assessment findings, care planning, preventive care, care plan monitoring and modification, infection control, transfer and discharge planning, use and availability of ancillary services, advance directives, resident choice regarding medical care options, and mechanisms for communicating and resolving issues related to medical care and standards of practice.
• Serve as primary care provider of medical care for the residents of the facilities by administering and/or directing medical care and services.
• Assure through program management that medical services meet individual medical requirements and standards of care and that regulatory compliance is maintained.
• In coordination with the Home's Director of Nursing, exercise medical and clinical leadership in a multi-disciplinary approach to resident care planning.
• Is aware of and familiar with available resources and provides essential linking of primary, acute, and long-term care delivery in order to treat residents with comorbidities and functional limitations.
• Work cooperatively with all other Home departments and outside service and treatment providers.
• Serve as a member of the Home’s leadership team as well as an agency resource for medical services.
• Manage Agency resources to provide the highest level of medical service possible at the best cost to the State of Washington.
• In collaboration with the nursing director and other members of the leadership team, enhances residents’ rights and champion resident centered care.
• Reinforce and model appropriate billing and charting practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Understands and manages the budget for medical services in collaboration with facility administration.
