About the Position
Reporting to the Vice President of Fraternal and Foundation Development, the Fraternal Engagement Manager will have responsibility for leading our Fraternal organization. This includes developing cultural and heritage programs, growing our member benefit programs, establishing key external relationships within the community, and providing member support and lodge officer training. This position is a key leader for our fraternal members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Core functions and responsibilities include the following; others may be assigned at any time:
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Lead efforts in member leadership support, lodge officer training and lodge development.
2. Manage Lodge compliance filings annually and lodge liability program. Ensuring lodges have completed necessary online filings and paid liability premiums.
3. Develop and implement cultural and heritage programs to attract and engage members.
4. Monitor district leadership meetings to enhance communication between headquarters and all 8 districts.
5. Manage content development and distribution of lodge leadership monthly newsletter.
6. Develop a common cause for Sons of Norway and our members that aligns with our organizational values and provides international visibility for our brand.
7. Grow Sons of Norway member benefit programs to attract and retain members.
8. Lead in defining and implementing member value proposition on behalf of Sons of Norway, including suggested member benefit programs.
9. Lead/support member engagement and community volunteer efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field
· Knowledge, understanding and interest in the heritage and culture of Norway
· Excellent writing and oral communication skills
· Strong Microsoft tools skills with emphasis on Excel. Ability to handle detailed projects and databases.
Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience
· Public speaking ability with large and small groups
· Ability to speak, read and write in Norwegian
· Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects
