Job description

We are currently looking for Mill Department Machinist/Set up Lead Position at our organization. The ideal candidate for this position has prior CNC machinist experience with knowledge to perform machine and job set up, and to operate 3 Axis Rotary and 5 Axis Trunnion Style CNC controlled Vertical Machining Centers. When cycle time permits machinist will be responsible for multiple machines.

Responsibilities:

• Work as lead machinist to help and train machine operators to complete tasks.
• Understand part program G-code, including setting up work, tool, fixture offset.
• Have a mechanical aptitude to achieve proper work holding setup.
• Perform job setup and operations using provided work order and part print.
• Identify and pull correct tooling for job according to work order.
• Identify and load correct part program into machine according to work order.
• As needed identify correct material from inventory locations according to work order.
• Perform miscellaneous work as instructed.
• It is the employee’s responsibility to check parts for quality and specifications according to job documentation.
• Keep accurate part counts and complete cycle time sheets.
• Follow Safety Rules as they apply to jobs and work area.
• Follow Company Rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Skills:

• Familiar with CNC Controls and can operate and set up Fanuc 16i,18i, 200i, 31i on Vertical Machining Centers that are 3 Axis with 4th Axis Rotary and 5 Axis Trunnion Style CNC controlled.
• Capable of holding tolerances down to .001 with appropriate machinery.
• Have working knowledge of CNC machine work coordinate systems, work with fixture offsets. Tool length and diameter offsets. Tool wear offsets.
• Have working knowledge of machine G, M and S codes and the ability to make at machine program edits as needed.
• Know shop math and be able to solve shop math problems.
• Have the ability to read part prints and all work order instructions.
• Have the ability to read and use measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, test indicators.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
