BWX Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Mobility & Employee Experience Specialist for its Lynchburg, VA location!

BWXT has an exciting opportunity for an individual who is looking to develop their multi-faceted skills and abilities specific to the employee experience. The role will have at least three main areas of focus: global mobility; employee rewards and recognition administration; and employee on-and-offboarding.


This position can be located at our headquarters in Lynchburg, VA or remote.


Job Duties Specific to Global Mobility (60% of the role’s focus)

  • Oversee BWXT’s third party vendors with respect to in-country domestic relocation
  • Act as the functional expert on relocation and mobility issues, providing advice and counsel to local Human Resources professionals
  • Partner with our outside immigration attorney to administer all business visitor visas, employment visas, permanent residency applications, and citizenship applications (as necessary)
  • Advise on visa processing times, applicable sponsorship needed, risk associated, and costs
  • Develop, maintain and review the visa tracker and ensure extensions are timely initiated and filed
  • Ensure all immigration records are maintained to ensure full compliance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and develop recommendations for solutions to enhance efficiency and to improve the employee experience
  • Coordinate resolutions to complex immigration matters with the assistance of outside counsel. Communicate solutions to employees and the business
  • Draft global mobility policies and procedures documents
  • Ensure all tax equalization activities are undertaken; coordinating such activities with payroll and our third-party mobility accounting firm
  • Perform regular internal audits and ad-hoc projects as needed

Job Duties Specific to Employee Rewards & Recognition Administration (20% of the role’s focus)

  • Administer BWXT’s rewards and recognition platform, including the loading of annual budgets; and budget oversight and reporting
  • Interface with applicable finance staff to ensure they have clear line of sight in terms of current and forecasted spend
  • Partner with the Senior Manager, Compensation, on any platform enhancements and changes
  • Act as the primary point of contact for platform trouble-shooting as necessary

Job Duties Specific to Employee On-and-Offboarding (20% of the role’s focus)

  • Partner with BWXT’s Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, and applicable HR Systems staff to identify and implement solutions to more fully automate the employee onboarding experience to avoid significant administration immediately following the date of hire
  • Implement processes to capture feedback from employees who are exiting the organization so that we may better understand the drivers of employee attrition, and make necessary improvements.
  • Complete monthly reporting by division as to the drivers of attrition based on employee feedback

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience in in global mobility, both domestic and international; and experience with understanding legal entity visa sponsorship; essential visa processing steps; relocation; and tax equalization
  • Strong technology experience regarding interfaces, testing, and system implementations
  • Advanced problem-solving skills
  • Impeccable ethics, integrity and discretion
  • A proven ability to work independently as well as part of a matrix team while prioritizing competing responsibilities
  • Ability to work with multiple Human Resources applications and systems, including but not limited to, running reports, researching data, transmitting data, and testing
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Experience with SAP on-prem; SAP Success Factors; and Payfactors (preferred)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
