About this Position:

This position is responsible for leading the North America (NA) financial consolidation process, oversight on activities towards NA financial reporting standardization and accounting consistencies, implementation of IFRS and US GAAP standards for Honda's North American entities including the insurance companies (with stand-alone reporting), and reviews/evaluations of significant contracts and arrangements with third parties/alliances to confirm financial and compliance implications to NA Honda.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage, oversee, and review NA financial reporting close/consolidation activities and resulting analyses (as well as several non-core intercompany transactions between AHM and its subsidiaries); Partner with HM-Consolidation Accounting in reviewing regional (NA) financial results, as well as preparation of reports/analyses for local management’s review.
• Oversee, review, and evaluate contracts, agreements and other relevant information pertaining to new business arrangements, incl. new alliances to confirm financial impact and proper accounting treatment by NA Honda. Participate in contract discussions/negotiations involving Business, Tax, Legal, as well as with third parties/alliances to ensure NA Finance/financial reporting representation.
• Lead Honda North American entities compliance with IFRS and US GAAP, including leading centralized implementation of new accounting standards and providing technical accounting guidance / oversight to ensure proper application of technical accounting transactions and activities by the NA companies; oversee interactions with external auditors in relation to accounting standards implementation and confirming conclusions reached on technical position papers.
• Lead and/or participation in special projects/working groups specific to NA Honda reporting standardization.
• Develop/train staff by transferring knowledge/providing challenging work/asking questions for process improvement.

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

• 12+ years public accounting and private industry experience combined; of which, 6+ years in public accounting audit and/or advisory practice with at least 1 year in manager capacity
• Experience in consolidation/coordination with global parent company
• Knowledge of automotive or consumer products industry preferred

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business with major in Accounting
• CPA required

Desired skills:

• Experience in multi-national company a plus
• Ability to develop practical approach to implement accounting standards
• Ability to research, interpret, communicate and apply accounting guidance under IFRS and US gaap
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interface with executive management levels
• IFRS experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency in various Microsoft applications (incl. PPT)

• Competitive Base Salary: $130,800 - $204,400
