Position Overview:

Leads the development of enterprise technology, solutions, systems, storage, network and telecommunications engineering designs that are used as a basis for consolidating and standardizing infrastructure throughout Sutter Health and its affiliates. Interprets architecture requirements, design, product evaluations, selection, configuration, installation, testing and integration of new technology to better support the needs of Sutter Health and its affiliates. Provides in-depth cross-platform server systems, systems engineering, and integration leadership.

6yrs of data center technology experience is desired.

Ideal candidate will be proficient in the following skills: Computer Networking, F5 Load Balancer, Firewalls , Internet Network, Networking Technologies, Networking Tools, Palo Alto Networks Panorama, Palo Alto Networks Prisma Access Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall Operations.

Job Description:

EDUCATION

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent education/experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

2 years project management experience.

2 years proven experience in the engineering, implementation, operation, maintenance, and support of a wide range of server platforms, networking and/or storage devices.

2 years experience working with change management practices.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Proven knowledge of storage performance, data replication, storage area network (SAN) based backup, load balancing, storage virtualization methods, and SAN zoning and provisioning.

Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify relevant concerns and factors.

Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients, information services (IS) team members, management, and executive personnel/staff.

Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Use basic English words and phrases to effectively and clearly organize and communicate thoughts and ideas.

Organize workflow to accomplish established objectives.

Prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

Work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.

Work as part of a team or collaborate with colleagues from different departments to achieve a common goal or to gain better understanding of client needs.

Perform effectively in environments with frequent and fluctuating workload changes, competing demands, and frequent interruptions and/or distractions.

Department: Network specialty, Network specialty Network infrastructure which may include: converged internet protocol (IP) networks, wireless local area network (WLAN), wide area network (WAN)/metropolitan area network (MAN), local area network (LAN), virtual private network (VPN)/Firewall. Transmission control protocol (TCP)/IP and open systems interconnection (OSI) model. Routing protocol – enhanced interior gateway routing protocol (EiGRP), open shortest path first (OSPF), border gateway protocol (BGP). frame relay/asynchronous transfer mode (FR/ATM), point-to-point protocol (PPP), high-level data link control (HDLC), multi-link point-to-point protocol (MLPPP) and virtual local area network (VLAN). digital signal and transmission line (DS3/T3), DS1/T1, fast Ethernet (FAST E), gigabit Ethernet (Gig E), 10 gigabit Ethernet (10 Gig E).

Pay Range: 50.38-75.57

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
