The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Housing Monitor for the Area Command, located in Nashville, TN.
Job Summary
Job requirements (functions) for Rodeway Night Monitors in Antioch,TN
One Monitor (full time) from 11 pm to 7:30 am, Sundays to Thursdays.
One Monitor (part-time) from 11 pm to 7:30 am Fridays and Saturdays.
Ensure client safety and report concerns regarding residents participating in the GAP Housing Program.
Provide updates on the progress of clients in the Homeless Management Information System and internal communication methods.
Interact and respond to client questions and concerns via phone, email, text, and in person.
Assist with providing essential services to program participants.
Make appropriate referrals to community partner agencies in collaboration with primary coaches.
Maintain a clean and safe working space.
Monitors the behavior and activities of clients participating in a Salvation Army housing program; guards the security the safety of Salvation Army facilities and buildings to ensure compliance with housing rules and policies and to protect the safety of staff and clients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of security practices and procedures. Ability to influence and control human behavior and enforce security rules and guidelines. Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and effective manner. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required and six months experience working with the public with experience work in a security or social service environment preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Work requiresthe ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility; duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting. Work is performed in a normal social service housing environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
