This position’s primary role is working with current and out-of-school student account balances. Position is one of the initial points of contact for incoming student Business Office calls. In this role, BOA is responsible for monitoring BankMobile activity and assisting students with BankMobile excess loan fund questions. Position is also responsible for the collection of current and out-of-school student cash balances, supporting the In and out of school Business Office Assistant positions.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist students by phone, email and mail, answering their questions, understanding their accounts & responding to balance disputes and/or complaints within the College or with outside agencies.
- Coordinate refund process between students and BankMobile to resolve issues. Monitor and resolve issues causing students to appear on BankMobile Import Rejection, Undeliverable Address and Inactive Card reports.
- Initiate monthly statements & invoices for “payers”, and correspondence to current and former students related to unpaid balances and other matters.
- Reach out to students via phone, letter and/or email to resolve account or payment issues.
- Monitor TouchNet payment plan spreadsheet weekly. Reach out to students with missed, and/or past due payments or unscheduled payment plans via phone, email and/or mail.
- Assist with the collection of current and out-of-school student cash balances and collection of various required documents via email, mail and phone calls.
- Train to assist with ELF batch process, including student account analysis to verify accurate & timely excess loan fund eligibility.
- Review and analyze student accounts to update site codes and apply fees.
- Train to back up reconciliation of transcript cash account.
- Develop a basic understanding of student financial programs administered by the Financial Aid Office.
- Support Financial Aid Department Staff with over-lapping student responsibilities.
- Active participation with balance and aging review to verify timely and accurate disbursement of funds to eligible students.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with other departments to resolve outstanding issues and achieve enrollment and retention goals.
- Ensure high level of customer service is maintained when dealing with students and associates.
- Support and back up Business Office Assistant responsibilities.
- Other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualification and Experience:
- Min. Associates Degree.
- Accounting skillset, education or experience.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills with ability to interact with a diverse student and staff population.
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess prioritizing and problem solving skills.
