ON FOURTH CAFE TEAM MEMBER
On Fourth Café is one of Spartan Shops’ most unique locations located in the Martin Luther King Jr. library on the main level. The café menu offers Tully’s coffee and espresso drinks, sandwiches with creative book themed titles and a variety of other treats. Customers include SJSU students, faculty and staff as well as City Hall employees and the public visiting the library.
Job Description:
- Provides outstanding customer service in a fast paced, fun environment
- Prepares sandwiches, coffee, espresso drinks and other menu items
- Develop a working knowledge of menu items, recipes, prices and serving sizes
- Handles Cash/Credit Card/Tower Card transactions effectively and accurately
- Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
- Maintains stock/inventory
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
- Has an enthusiastic, outgoing and friendly personality
- Willing to learn new skills and take on new challenges
- Must be able to multi-task/prioritize in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
- Must be able to follow all safety procedures
- Must be able to follow directions and communicate effectively
- Must be able to pass California Food Handlers certification test
- Must be available to work on weekends
- Previous customer service experience is a plus, but not required
- The selected applicants will be subject to a background check, per University Background Check policy.
Shifts Available: (Maximum 25 hours per week)
Monday - Thursday: 9am - 3pm
