Job Description

Manages and coordinates outpatient clinical service activities and determines the extent and nature of therapy services needed, identifying methods and resources for implementing those services and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the clinical delivery system within assigned area.

Manages and coordinates outpatient clinical service activities and determines the extent and nature of therapy services needed, identifying methods and resources for implementing those services and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the clinical delivery system within assigned area.

Required to care for a variety of diagnostic groups including, but not limited to, the following: orthopedic and arthritis related conditions; neurological groups including CVA, TBI, degenerative neurological diseases, SCI; and generalized weakness as a result of medical or surgical conditions.

Abides by the standards of practice as outlined by the therapy association in the area of specialty.

Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications:

Licensure: Current certification/licensure in the state of Indiana for area of specialty.

Experience: 5 years experience in area of specialty; 1 - 3 years management experience.

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or a Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Other:

  • Demonstrates indepth working knowledge of techniques, equipment and regulations applicable to various treatment programs in areas of responsibility.
  • Requires indepth analytical and organizational skills necessary to perform direct patient care activities, identify issues or problems and recommend a plan of action based on research findings and collaboration with staff.
  • Requires necessary leadership skills in the areas of challenging the process, inspiring a shared vision, enabling others to act, modeling the way and encouraging the heart.
  • Requires working knowledge of normal growth and development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and range of treatment appropriate to the age (infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric) and diagnosis of patient services to support the provision of an individualized interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal, in order to establish and maintain positive and effective therapeutic/working relationships with all internal and external customers.
